My favorite art piece that I've ever made is probably a clay hamburger I made in my junior year of high school in ceramics. Are assignment was to make a food item and I choose a cheeseburger, not really because I'm in love with cheeseburgers or anything but because I liked that I could use a lot of colors in it. I made it the size of a regular burger and I had everything but the onion (not a fan) on it. The structure was fairly easy to make with the exception of the lettuce which I wanted a wave to and the clay was not really down to be suspended in air and making the right thickness with out it falling apart was a pain in the ass. Painting it was a heck of a lot harder than making it, with all the color and differences in shape came a ton of opportunities to accidently hit a part that was going to be a different color but in the end I did pretty well. I was definitely happy when I saw the finished product coming out of the kiln and was happy with my classmates reactions to it. The day it was graded(a+!) and I could take it home I definitely walked around with it that day and displayed as nonchalantly as possible and people definitely liked it. If I remember right I'm pretty sure its the only thing I made in that class that I didn't give or throw away and I currently use it as a paperweight on my bookshelf in my room at home. Too bad I don't have a picture of it...
